So...she's still cute

Umm, Mom said that the doctor wanted me to gain weight. Is 7 lbs 14 oz okay? PS, I'm still hungry.
Aunt Carrie, we're praying for you and my cousin.

I love sleeping on my Daddy's chest, he's the best. He loves me a lot.

Yeah, I do have eyes, big blue ones.

Nice to meet you Auntie Jo

Congrats on getting engaged Auntie Jo. We're excited that you came back from India, and can't wait to meet Sunder.

Gaining weight

Lodie had a doctor's appointment this morning, and much to our delight, she's gaining weight and losing her jaundice. We have another appointment next Wednesday, and hopefully by that time she'll be back to her birthweight and the regular checkups can slow down a bit. Here's a couple of pictures from this morning after our "exhausting" trip out.

Hasn't gotten old yet

Because it doesn't get old to post pictures of Melodie, here are some more.

My Daddy loves me, he's getting pretty good at feeding, burping and changing me too. He even figured out a trick to help me stop hiccupping. Mommy hasn't figured that trick out yet, but she'll learn.
Daddy dressed me this morning. I love my new onesie from Aunt Ceci, and the pants from Mommy's friend at work.

The Friday before Mommy delivered me, her co-workers threw her a surprise ME shower! Mommy had stayed late the night before to finish some work, but she didn't know that everyone was waiting for her to leave so that they could decorate! We got outfitted with some great presents, clothes, blankets, shoes, books, giftcards and other great stuff. It sure was nice of her co-workers to celebrate me, even though they hadn't met me yet.
The cake was great too. Carole's friend made it, and it was wonderful. Thanks Mommy's friends for taking care of us!

Pictures of MJ

Thought that I'd post some updated picture of Melodie. She's been fun this weekend, and is a lot more alert today than she has been before.

Grandpa and Grandma Young came to visit me at the hospital
So did Great Grandpa Ranallo
My cousin Madeline came and checked me out too. She's two months older than I am.
Uncle Gabe was at the hospital too, and my cousin Ari was pretty excited about having me as a cousin.
All of Mommy's sisters came to visit from Michigan the day after I was born. Aunt Carrie is holding me, Aunt Missy drove, and Aunt Ceci told us that she was expecting a cousin for me in November! That's going to be two more cousins since Aunt Carrie is due in October!

Mommy's friend Sara holding me for the first time. Thanks Sara for the delicious Chicken dinner with fruit! It was tasty.

Mommy and me chilling out in the living room

Mommy's friend Emily who came over to drop off a present of diapers, wipes and practical coupons redeemable for help over the next few months. Thanks Emily, you're awesome.
Chillin' in the boppy seat

What's going on?

Mommy and I are about to leave the hospital, I'm all wrapped in Aunt Jill's blanket, and have the dress on that Grandma LaBarge gave me to come home in.
Aunt Janet and Uncle Ben made the trek out to Milwaukee to visit me the day I got home from the hospital. They were really great about posing right in front of my name which Mom had just finished painting before she went into labor.
Snug as a bug in a rug

Daddy and me right after I was weighed and measured. He's pretty proud of me, and everyone says that I look exactly like him.
First family picture
Grandma and Grandpa LaBarge came over from Holland to visit me, and meet me the day I was born. They drove home that night, and then Grandma came back to Milwaukee to help Mommy and Daddy for the weekend.
Auntie 'Ne, Grandma Young, Daddy, Mommy and me posing for a picture in the delivery room. Auntie 'Ne came right from school, and Grandma came too to meet me the night I came.

Our new arrival.

Melodie is here and Becky and I could not be happier. I am glad to finally be a dad. Becky is resting after the 19 hour labor. Thanks for all your prayers and support.

waiting game

We're just waiting for Miss Melodie to make her appearance. All weekend I've been having Braxton-Hixx contractions. They've been getting stronger, but it hasn't been the real thing yet. Ryan and I are really excited, and can't wait to meet our little blessing. The car seat is ready in the Jeep, and the bassinet is set up as well. Now we just have the joy of waiting for her to come. I can't wait to meet her, and see what she looks like, and hold her in my arms. It truly is a blessing, that I can't wait for!
